Where the work is in Bengaluru, and where to live near it
On the lanes off 100 Feet Road at eight in the evening, one of the country's most watched AI companies shares its block with a florist and a filter-coffee counter, and nobody on the street finds this remarkable. That is the quietly interesting thing about Bengaluru in 2026: the people whose whole job is deciding where intelligence should live keep making the same residential choice, and it is not the glass corridor. This page maps the city's work, from the lab lanes to the mega-campuses, and puts our locality reads beside each cluster, because where you work is a given and where you live near it is the actual decision.

Where the AI companies went
Follow the public record and a pattern appears. Sarvam AI headquartered itself in Indiranagar's lanes; Krutrim took Koramangala's edge; Anthropic opened its first India office in the city's centre this February, and OpenAI has named Bengaluru for late 2026. The labs, staffed by people with every neighbourhood open to them, chose the walkable, lived-in streets. Meanwhile the mega-campuses went where land goes: Google's Ananta, one of its largest offices anywhere and home to its DeepMind teams, stands in Mahadevapura on the eastern belt. Labs choose streets; campuses choose acreage. A renter can learn from both.
What the pattern means for your hunt
Our reads agree with the labs. Indiranagar's 8.91 is the strongest blend in our Bengaluru set with a 9.4 day-to-day, and Koramangala's 7.78 leads the south-east. The neighbourhoods that professional deciders keep choosing are the same ones the numbers keep crowning, which is either a coincidence or the whole point. If your badge lets you live anywhere, live where the labs live. If your badge points at a campus belt, the question becomes the honest second-best, and that is what the rest of the table is for.
The campus belts, ranked honestly
For the ORR and Bellandur campuses, HSR Layout (7.17) is the strongest home within reach, with Marathahalli (6.21 blend, but a 7.9 day-to-day) as the unfashionable value pick. For Mahadevapura and Whitefield, live in Brookefield (6.57) rather than Whitefield Main (5.27, the only walkability in our set below a perfect 10; the town is drawn for cars). Hebbal (6.87) serves the Manyata belt and anyone whose calendar includes the airport more than twice a month. Electronic City sits last at 4.13, and the honest advice from our first-job notes stands at every seniority: it is a place to work, and a harder place to live.
The hospitals and the institutes
Medicine and research have their own geography: the NIMHANS and St. John's institutions sit against Koramangala's edge, Manipal anchors Old Airport Road between Indiranagar and the east, and the northern hospitals cluster toward Hebbal. For doctors, researchers, and hospital families the table conveniently repeats itself: Koramangala and Indiranagar serve the institutional south-centre, Hebbal the north. The professions change; the streets that hold them well do not.
